At ScribeConcepts, we know that learning isn’t confined to an age range or within the walls of a classroom. We value lifelong learning, and early in our history, we developed training materials to promote professional development and career training for project managers. Eventually, these materials morphed into what is known today as Scribe Academy, professional development for individuals who wish to strengthen skills and strategies in a variety of functional areas related to education project management.
Our project management training uniquely reflects what we know to be true based on over 20 years of experience: At the heart of every project are smart people doing hard work. To be successful, project managers need practical and technical skills, as well as strategies that empower them to work with people.
Project Support Fundamentals in action
Recently, we brought this expertise to EL Education to introduce Scribe Academy’s Project Support Fundamentals program to its project managing staff. This 11-session program spanned the course of eight months and covered topics like:
Work styles;
Emotional intelligence;
Change management; and
Effective meeting facilitation.
Our goal was to intentionally weave people skills into the program to emphasize the value of those skills when it comes to managing a project. The EL Education team learned to hold difficult, necessary conversations, turn insights into action, and cultivate deeper, more effective working relationships with members of their team.
Yvonne Wang, Associate Director of Strategy and Planning at EL Education, shared her thoughts on working with ScribeConcepts on this undertaking:
“It's been a joy to partner with Scribe in our learning series. Scribe combines a clear, organized approach with a deep understanding of people and their learning preferences. Their openness to feedback and willingness to make adjustments based on the group's style underscores their commitment to ensuring each session is effective, engaging, and supports every participant's learning needs. Each project manager walked away with a community for thought partnership and a toolkit of resources with practical tips and customizable templates. This enriching experience was invaluable for our staff, and it was the result of Scribe's expertise, strong facilitation skills, and collaborative spirit.”
The results
At the conclusion of the program, we asked participants to name 1-3 things they enjoyed about the series.
Since 2018, ScribeConcepts has facilitated programs for organizations to teach and reinforce project management best practices. Now, more than ever, this type of learning is in high demand. ScribeConcepts' Scribe Academy courses ensure that project management team members have the skills they need to manage complex projects successfully.
